Thinking Of Visiting?

The photo above shows our people greeting one another during our "Friendship in Worship" time
It can be a little "scary" to visit a church for the first time. Even if you've been to other churches before - you may not know what to expect when you walk through the door.

This short "guide" hopes to explain what you may expect during a typical Sunday morning service.

We will usually begin with an opening prayer – prayer is simply talking to God and listening to Him. It is our desire that God would join with us as we worship.

Music is an important part of Worship. We love to sing. Both contemporary and traditional music are played.

Friendship in Worship time- We want everyone to feel welcome, so we give opportunity to turn around and greet the people around you. You will likely be greeted by several of the church members and be welcomed to the service

An opportunity is set aside each Sunday morning for Open Altar Prayer. This is a time when you may go and kneel at the altar and pray or you may also remain in the congregation. (Actually, you may go to the altar and pray at any time during the service if you feel that you need to!)

Announcements are usually given somewhere in the beginning of the service about up-coming events at the church and in the community. You'll also find this information in your bulletin.

Sometimes the children will leave the Sanctuary for a time of stories and activities or possibly will be given an special activity, designed especially for them, to complete during the Sermon.

Offering is taken in the middle of the service. Although we believe that we put God first in all areas of our lives, including finances, You are not required to give.

The Pastor will preach a message from a passage or several passages of scripture from the Bible. The Sermons are Bible based and designed to help us put the Word of God to work in our daily lives.

At the close of the service will be a time of benediction (a prayer) and church will be dismissed. Dismissal is usually around 12:00 Noon (give or take 10 minutes or so).
